"What is Music and Video Exchange?"

We're a London based retail company- we buy, sell and exchange a wide range of entertainment/leisure goods, including CDs, records, videos, computer games, books and comics, clothing and fashion accessories. Everything we sell is bought off the public and sold to the customer second hand- we're the biggest second hand dealer in this sort of stuff in London. We don't refuse to buy any legal goods of the kinds described above as long as you have two forms of official identification. We refer all buyers and sellers to our terms and conditions of trade- to view these and to find out more about ID, click here.

"Where are your shops?"

We've got nearly twenty shops in London- we have thirteen shops in Notting Hill Gate near the tube station selling the full range of goods listed above. We've also got shops selling music, DVDs, and more in London in the Camden, Soho and Greenwich areas. We also have shops in Birmingham and Plymouth, Devon. For the full guide to our shops, click here.

"What do you specialise in?"

We specialise in ALL genres of ALL the various sorts of item we sell- since we such a wide range of items, we have to know about everything we're likely to come across. Consequently our staff have some of the broadest knowledge around when it comes to music, film, clothing, computer games, books etc.

"How does the exchange system work?"

When you sell items to us, we offer you cash or up to twice the cash offer in exchange vouchers. You can then buy goods in our shops to the face value of the vouchers- they are valid at any of our shops, and do not have an expiry date.

"When are you open?"

Our regular opening times in London are 7 days a week, from 10am to 8pm. We are open all bank and public holidays too- we are sometimes open on Christmas Day, and on every other day of the year all of our shops should be open. Our Birmingham shop is open 7 days a week from 10am to 6.30pm, and our Plymouth shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 6pm.

"How much will I get for stuff I sell to you?"

Unfortunately we cannot quote rates for how much we buy items for- with all types of item that we buy, we need to inspect the goods and check their condition. The amount you will be offered will also change depending on whether we already have that item in stock. Hence both individual items and collections of goods will generally need to be brought to our appropriate shop to sell- see the shop guide by clicking here.

If you have a very large collection of goods to sell- we're talking several hundred records or CDs at least in most cases- we may be able to send a buyer to you to value and buy from you in situ. Please note we only consider this when you are in the Greater London and surrounding counties area, and you should phone the appropriate store to discuss this with our buyers.

Please note that selling goods to us is covered in more detail on our sell to us page.

"Are goods I buy guaranteed against faults?"

CDs, DVDs and videos are guaranteed against faults for 7 days. Vinyl should be inspected before you buy as we do not guarantee against visible faults eg. scratches and marks. For full details of our guarantee terms and conditions click here.

"Can I get a job with you?"

You need to talk to our Personnel Department- you can call to talk to someone about jobs. Before doing that though, click here to look at our recruitment section.
